25 Not-So-Random Things
Remember those silly notes going around on Facebook a few years ago? Where you write 25 random things about yourself and tag 25 friends, or something like that? I just ran across my version, 25 Not-So-Random Things I endorsed back then. Maybe my next post will be an updated version…
1. MIA – a phenomenal musician with an crazy interesting history. Tony and I have dance parties in the car whenever we play MIA’s music.
2. The Sex Lives of Cannibals – a hilarious travel essay that had me laughing out loud…and I have pretty high comedy standards.
3. icanhascheezburger.com – this website is the best ever. It keeps me smiling (on the inside) all day at work. Ok, maybe I don’t have very high comedy standards.
4. Google Reader and Google Notebook – as-it-happens updates of blogs and website. I check my Reader more than I check my email.
5. Jillian Michael’s 30-Day Shred – The. Best. Workout. Ever.
6. The Creative Alliance – the best marketing firm on the Front Range, filled with some of the most intelligent and charismatic people you will ever meet. Know anyone who needs some marketing/PR/design? Contact us at: www.thecreativealliance.com/contact.html
7. Alton Brown – how does this guy know so much about food?
8. REI – someone once said, this is the place for granola-loving tree-huggers. It may not have guns and taxidermied animals on the walls, but REI has some of the best sales ever. I got a pair of Keen shoes (originally $80) the other day for $22!
9. Good Magazine – this magazine is filled with inspiring stories of good people doing good things. It reminds you that the world is not such a bad place.
10. Sugarbeet Restaurant – the best restaurant in Longmont, by far. The fillet is to die for, and I could drink their Ponzu sauce. If you haven’t been there, stop in and ask to sit in Katie’s section. If you have been there, you should go back.
11. Tide Stick – this thing makes stains disappear in seconds. I’m am klutz, so this comes in very handy almost daily.
12. Bacardi Limon Water – low calorie and delicious and it keeps you hydrated! It is like killing three birds with one stone.
13. MySpace Music – save your favorite songs to play lists and play them any time for free. It is the best way to drown out office noise pollution.
14. The Ab-Doer – yup, and infomercial find. But, I have been using it on and off since high school, and it really works!
15. Silver Jeans – the best fitting jeans under $100…if you can handle the overly helpful sales people at the Buckle.
16. Jack Johnson – talented musician, with meaningful lyrics, and he is HOT! It is like three for the price of one!
17. Kashi – delicious and good for you. Can it really be that easy?
18. The Soup – oh man, Jole McHale is hilarious. Proof again that I don’t have very high comedy standards.
19. Pedro Almodovar – a controversial Spanish director. If you can handle subtitles, drugs, incest, corruption, homosexuality, death, and dark humor, watch every single one of his movies.
20. m’liss Detox Kit – one week on this detox regiment and you will feel like a new person.
21. The OC – the best teen drama show ever. Too bad Marissa had to die. I have all four seasons on DVD if you ever want to borrow them.
22. Long-haired Cats – like teddy bears, but warm, with teeth and claws.
23. Origin’s Modern Friction – very efficient and gentle facial exfoliant. Totally worth the $35 for a 4 oz container.
24. Moleskin Day Planners – classy and useful. If only I would start putting my notes and to do lists in my planner rather than on multiple post-its.
25. www.buyameter.org – a charity started by graphic design students. Sadly, some people in the U.S. don’t have clean water to drink or bath in because they cant afford $425 for a water meeter. You can help them out, if you want good karma.
